Extended School Year or ESY are special education and related services that are provided to a student with a disability during school breaks. Extended School Year is not the same thing as summer school. Speakers:

Stephen Peters is a staff attorney in Disability Rights California’s Youth Practice Group. He started his legal career advocating for the rights of protected persons under guardianship at Disability Rights Oregon, and advocated for California Department of Rehabilitation clients before transitioning to special education law. He continues to advocate for students with disabilities throughout California.

Andria Seo is a Staff Attorney in the Youth Practice Group at Disability Rights California. Andria started her legal career in New York City at Partnership for Children’s Rights, a nonprofit special education firm. Andria continues to practice special education law at Disability Rights California and works with families throughout California.
