*This training is presented from a peer perspective by people who have lived experience with mental disabilities.*

About the webinar:

Do you want to know what youth leaders are working on, what issues are impacting their communities, and how they got involved in youth advocacy? Join us for a special youth roundtable with youth leaders from around California to discuss youth mental health advocacy.

Speakers:

Nancy Aguilar is 19 years old. She has been doing youth advocacy work for over 3 years now. She loves being artistic and creative.

Beatriz Durant (she/her) is a volunteer Transitional-Age Youth Action Team Member with the TAY Action Team of the Mental Health Association of San Francisco. Outside of her work with TAT, she is a student at San Francisco State University majoring in Psychology with double minors in Education and Special Education. She is also a part of several other non-profit organizations which align with her interests of mental health advocacy and educational equity for diverse student populations. She is looking forward to engaging with other youth leaders and community members on furthering advocacy efforts towards youth mental health and disability rights during the roundtable!

Zofia Trexler is a Peer Self-Advocacy Trainer with the Peer Self-Advocacy Unit of Disability Rights California. She has lived experience with a mental health disability and the mental health system and specializes in advocating for the Transitional Age Youth population.
