People With Disabilities

During October, we celebrated National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). This year's NDEAM theme was, "The right talent, right now," that captured the contributions of workers with disabilities, and educated the value of a workforce inclusive of their skills and talents.

At Disability Rights California, our staff includes people from all walks of life, with and without disabilities, as we recognize that becoming a more disability and culturally competent organization is a long-term commitment.

As NDEAM comes to an end, we are reminded to continue to focus on ensuring equal opportunity, regardless of disability to get the right talent, right now.

Workforce Stories

To celebrate National Disability Awareness Month (NDEAM), the National Disability Rights Network (NDRN) gathered a collection of stories highlighting individuals with disabilities, successfully employed in the community.

Allessandra Bradley-Burns said it best, “When we create workplaces that are more welcoming of a broader variety of people, we get to access a broader amount of intelligence, passion and capacity in people.”
