Tell Congress Today: Disabled People Are Counting on You to Protect Medicaid

This week, Congress is trying to finalize a plan that would cut Medicaid for the millions of people who rely on it. Your Congresspeople need to hear from constituents about why Medicaid matters to you. Every voice counts—we know that Congressional offices are listening to letters from their constituents.

Lawmakers are using lots of terms to describe these cuts, like per capita caps, changes to the FMAP formula, work requirements, and changes to provider taxes. No matter what they call it, these proposals are cuts to Medicaid. All these policies would result in disabled people losing access to needed health care and home- and community-based services.

We know that Medicaid is vital to people with disabilities. It keeps us alive and allows us to live full lives in the community. Let’s make sure our lawmakers know that, too.

Help us save Medicaid by emailing your lawmakers using this form.

Update May 22, 2025: The budget bill, containing disastrous cuts to Medicaid, passed the House of Representatives in the early hours of the morning on May 22, 2025. Now, the fight to protect Medicaid moves to the Senate. Use the updated form below to send a message to your Senators asking them to protect Medicaid for disabled people.
