About the webinar:

A recent California Court of Appeal decision clarified how the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) should interpret regulations related to school housing requests. As a result of this decision, DOR cannot deny a request simply based on the duration of the training program (school) and must make a case-by-case analysis when individuals make requests for school-related housing costs.

This clarification applies to people who need to move to complete required training or schooling for them to reach their employment goal. DOR will assess whether they can pay for additional costs because of having to relocate.

Join us as we discuss:

  • When the DOR can pay for school housing.
  • What the Appellate court decision clarifies.
  • Why the court decision is important.
  • How to get help.
Reasonable Accommodations: ASL will be provided by request before September 10th, 2025
