Know Your Rights: Support Animals in Housing
Join us for a live virtual workshop
Assistance animals are wonderful helpers and companions for people with disabilities, but the process of keeping one in your home can be stressful. Join DRC’s Equal Access and Housing Practice Group as we discuss Californians’ rights to have assistance animals in their homes because of their disabilities.
When:
Tuesday, January 27, 2026
1:00 PM
Pacific Time
About the virtual workshop:
Many Californians rely on emotional support animals and/or service animals to assist them with their disability related needs. Unfortunately, many tenants and landlords are unaware of the laws and regulations governing these assistance animals. This training will discuss these issues in an easy-to-understand way in order to help ensure that all Californians have access to the assistance they need.
If you still have questions about your Support Animals in Housing issue after the event, you may have a chance for a private 15-minute consultation with a DRC team member. Consultations are limited and are not guaranteed. Instructions will be given at the workshop.
Interpretation will be provided if requested at least 1 week before the event date.
