About the webinar:
Understanding the Lanterman Act & Regional Center Services
The Lanterman Act is a California law that gives people with developmental disabilities the right to services that help them live as independently as possible—just like anyone else their age. Regional Centers are nonprofit agencies that work with the state to provide these services. They help with the following: determining eligibility, assessing needs, creating a personalized plan, offering support and services. What you’ll learn in this training:
- Your rights under the Lanterman Act;
- How to access services through your local Regional Center;
- What services are available, like help with daily living, job training, and learning new skills;
- How to advocate for yourself or a loved one; and
- How to work with your service coordinator to build a plan that fits your goals
