The revision of Governor Newsom’s proposed state budget comes out every year in May. This is because the first proposed state budget is released in January, revised in May based on the latest economic information, and finalized in the summer. In this town hall, DRC’s public policy experts will share updates about the budget that are relevant to the disability community. After the update, we open it up for a Q&A.

Topics will include:

  • Regional center services
  • Medi-Cal
  • In Home Supportive Services (IHSS)
  • Housing
  • Mental health
  • Education

Speakers:

Sabrina Epstein, Policy Analyst, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Practice Group

Vivian Haun, Senior Attorney, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Practice Group

Monica Porter Gilbert, Associate Director and Senior Counsel of Public Policy, Legislation and Communications Unit

Evan Fern, Public Policy Advocate II, Public Policy Unit

Conrad Crump, Senior Policy Advocate, Public Policy Unit
