Join us for a live virtual workshop
Have you had a repair or pest issue that a landlord just would not fix? This workshop will share red flags, best practices, and options for addressing an unsafe living environment while protecting your housing. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to get your questions answered in a one-on-one consultation.
When:

About the virtual workshop:
The workshops will help tenants with disabilities understand their basic rights and what steps to take to get safe and habitable housing. We will discuss examples of habitability problems and what tenants can do to make sure the housing provider maintains the property and provides a safe place to live.
Join us as we discuss:
- The implied warranty of habitability
- Landlords’ responsibilities
- Tenants’ responsibilities
- What to do if you are experiencing issues
- Options and remedies
If you still have questions about your habitability and the right to safe living conditions issue after the event, you may have a chance for a private 15-minute consultation with a DRC team member. Consultations are limited and are not guaranteed. Instructions will be given at the workshop.
Interpretation will be provided if requested at least 1 week before the event date.
NOTE: Although service providers are welcome, this workshop is specifically designed for tenants with disabilities, with a focus on their questions and perspectives.
Our Mission:
The Equal Access and Housing Practice Group (EAH PG)is a small team of advocates and attorneys that provides free limited, short-term legal services on disability-related housing issues to callers throughout California. EAH PG also collaborates with DRC’s social work team. We believe that sharing knowledge and connecting people to resources will empower people with disabilities to be able to make the best housing decisions for themselves.
