Speakers:

Tiffany Elliott was in California's first Peer Employment Training in California in 2006, where she was introduced to the transformative power of the recovery model of mental health care. At the time of her training, the mental health professionals in her life told her Social Security was her only means of obtaining a sustainable income and insisted she would never complete her post-secondary education. She would go on to receive her BA in English from California State University San Bernardino and her MFA from New Mexico State University with a Graduate Minor in Gender Studies. Elliott has worked in the mental health recovery field for a total of over 13 years. She is currently working at California Association of Mental Health Peer Run Organizations as the Program Manager for the Peer Empowerment Partnership which is supporting the peer-centric roll-out of California's SB 803 Peer Support Specialist Certification.
