SB 616 - Enforcement of money judgments: exemptions
DRC Support

SB 616 extends from 10 days to 15 or 20 days a deposit account holder's timeline for filing a claim of exemption when a judgment creditor seeks to extract money from the account through a levy. The bill also establishes an automatic exemption from bank account levies, with specified exceptions, of no more than two thousand dollars ($2,000) per debtor.
