Join us for a live webinar
If you are a person with a disability in California or their circle of support, we want you to know about these upcoming changes to Medicaid. Experts from Disability Rights California are going to break down who will be affected by these changes, when they are going to take place, and which law is causing each change.
This event is part 1 of a 3-part series on Medicaid changes. Parts 2 and Part 3 will dive into specific changes that will impact people with mental health disabilities and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

About the webinar:
This summer, two sets of policies were passed that will cause changes to Medicaid over the next several years. The California state legislature passed changes in the 2025 state budget, and the federal government passed changes in House Resolution 1. Members of DRC’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Practice Group and the Health and Home and Community-Based Services (H/HCBS) Practice Group will give an overview of how each of those policies will impact people with disabilities.
The presentation will discuss these policy changes chronologically, including who will be affected by each change and why the change is occurring. We will wrap up the webinar by sharing information about how you can get involved.
In this webinar, you will learn about:
- Work requirements
- Changes to eligibility for immigrant groups
- Copays and premiums
- Asset limit reinstatements
