This is a part of DRC’s Housing Webinar Series and will repeated on the 4th Thursday of each month.
About the webinar:
Applicants to, and participants in the Housing Choice Voucher program and public housing have the right to request reasonable accommodations to access their housing programs.
In this workshop, we will:
- Discuss how rights are often applied to Housing Authorities and best practices in making these requests.
- Discuss Housing Authority administrative processes and how to self-advocate within the Housing Authorities.
- Review common questions and rules that often arise from our callers with vouchers, such as source of income discrimination.
- Explain the In-Home Supportive Services income exclusions with attendees.
If you still have questions after the workshop, you can request to chat with an Equal Access and Housing team member in a private 15-minute consultation. If you need more in-depth support, we can set up a separate appointment for you.
