I turn 60 on August 28.
To mark this milestone birthday, I am raising money that will be used to create Disability Rights California's (DRC's) new IMPACT Fund. Faced with challenging political environments at the Federal and State levels, DRC launched a power building initiative earlier this year. Our power building initiative leverages grassroots disability power to demand better policies and more accountable political leadership in California and beyond.
The IMPACT fund will bolster that work, making it easier for us to mobilize the people who are working with us to build power. The fund will pay for travel and other costs so that disabled people and our supporters can have their voices heard in Sacramento, Washington, DC, and other places where decisions are made that affect their lives.
If you are concerned about the cuts to Medicaid and SNAP at the federal level, the attacks on immigrants, and the increasingly carceral and coercive approach that elected officials at all levels of government are using to control and institutionalize unhoused people, please join with DRC and our coalition partners to push back by mobilizing for change. I hope you’ll consider making a contribution and help us spread the word! In solidarity and gratitude.
