About the webinar:

This summer, two sets of policies were passed that will cause changes to Medicaid over the next several years. The California state legislature passed changes in the 2025 state budget, and the federal government passed changes in House Resolution 1. Presenters from DRC’s Public Policy and Mental Health Practice Groups, as well as experts from Cal Voices, will share updated analysis of California's mental health system, which has experienced huge changes from Prop 1 and Medicaid funding changes.

This presentation will include:

  • How Medicaid funds mental health services in California
  • How changes to Medicaid may uniquely impact people with mental health disabilities
  • Analysis of how the Medicaid changes may affect unhoused people

We will wrap up the webinar by sharing information about how you can get involved in advocating for voluntary, community-based mental health services.
