What is the Expedited Due Process and You Manual?

Expedited Due Process and You is a manual designed for attorneys who are defending students with disabilities from expulsion. The manual instructs attorneys on how to represent students in expedited due process complaints under the IDEA and its implementing regulations.

What is Included in the Manual?

It includes a comprehensive overview of relevant laws that govern expedited due process, as well as strategies that attorneys can use to advocate for their clients at each stage of the process. The manual also includes an appendix with sample complaints, motions, demand letters, and other case related documents.

How to request access to the manual?

Access will be granted to members of the disability community and their allies, student-side attorneys, and student-side advocates. 

We created this manual to support student-side attorneys with the difficult and taxing work they do in systems that do not always favor our clients. 

We ask that you do not distribute this manual to district-side counsel to ensure that the strategies and practices set forth here remain effective, relevant, and confidential.
