Pacific Time
About the webinar:
Japanese and Vietnamese clients and families are invited to join the Office of Clients’ Rights Advocacy (OCRA) for a free webinar to learn about the restoration of camping and social recreation services. This webinar is being offered based on feedback from previous OCRA outreaches to the Japanese and Vietnamese communities.
In 2009, because of a financial emergency, regional centers had to stop paying for social recreation services. Some of the services that were not allowed included camping, social recreation, and other related services. These services were restored effective July 1, 2021. Recent changes to the law make it easier to get these services approved.
What you will Learn:
- How do regional centers decide who gets these services?
- How do I request these services?
- Are there new instructions from the Department of Developmental Services about how regional centers must review and approve these funding requests?
- What if the regional center says no?
- How can OCRA help you?
