This webinar will explain Title XVI Supplemental Security Income (SSI) disability benefits and work incentives. We will debunk work myths and learn about exclusions and exceptions which can prevent deductions to your SSI check. You will also discover options for reporting your wage earnings to the Social Security Administration (SSA).

Speakers:
Jode Keasler (she/her) is a Peer Self-Advocacy Coordinator with the Peer Self Advocacy (PSA) Unit at Disability Rights California (DRC). Jode has lived experience with co-occurring disorders. Jode is aware of the challenges and stigma one faces navigating the world having disabilities.
For 8 years, Jode was a Patients’ Rights Advocate, specializing in advocating for the rights of patients with mental health disabilities at state hospitals.
Jode is excited she brought what she has learned to PSA, where she teaches peers and peer service providers about the applicable rights and self-advocacy tools/ techniques to have their needs met.
