In Fiscal Year 2023, DRC staff obtained over $2.32 million in lump sum awards and over $420 thousand per month in ongoing economic benefits through individual advocacy. 
In addition, through systemic advocacy, DRC staff obtained over $360 thousand in lump sum awards and over $1.98 million per month in ongoing economic benefits for Californians with disabilities.
DRC staff responded to 21,187 requests for assistance.
DRC Staff Developed or Revised 39 (calendar year) and 43 (Fiscal year) publications.
DRC staff conducted 1,435 Outreaches and Trainings.
66,547 people received information and training through outreaches and trainings.
We closely analyzed 816 bills directly impacting persons with disabilities.
We took positions on 156 bills
and Sponsored 12 bills.
DRC reviewed and audited 522 representative payees providing money management services to 41,719 Social Security Administration (SSA) beneficiaries. DRC involved more than 1490 beneficiaries in their reviews to uncover potential misuse of SSA income by representative payees.
DRC provided full services so 125 beneficiaries under the Work Incentives Planning and Assistance program, with an additional 245 beneficiaries receiving services through our intake and referral.
