Speaker:

Debi Davis is a person with lived experience and a long time mental health advocate. She volunteered with Riverside County Patients’ Rights office for ten years. Ms. Davis created a client advocacy group called WE C.A.N. (Client Advocacy Now.) The group developed and presented skits dealing with mental health stigma throughout California.

In 1997, she graduated summa cum laude from UC Riverside with a BA degree, and in 2001 received a Master’s degree in Social Work from California State University, San Bernardino.

For the last 12 years, she has worked in the Peer Self-Advocacy program of Disability Rights California as a Peer Self-Advocacy Trainer. She facilitates self-advocacy groups at in-patient and crisis residential mental health facilities.
