AB 1060 - Attorneys: annual license fees: free legal services
This bill would require each state bar licensee to pay a mandatory $40 fee along with the annual license fee which would be dedicated to funding legal aid organizations throughout California. Disability Rights California is one of the legal aid organizations that would share in the distribution.
SB 544 - State Bar: admission: license: moral character review: mental health medical records

This bill would prohibit the State Bar or members of the examining committee, in reviewing whether an applicant is of good moral character, from reviewing the person’s medical records relating to mental health unless the records are public records, the applicant consents, or the applicant uses the record to demonstrate that the applicant is of good moral character as a mitigating factor to explain specific acts of misconduct.

DRC Supports as proposed to be Amended
The proposed amendments to this bill, the annual State Bar dues bill, would provide, in part, for the distribution of revenue that is generated by the State Bar insurance affinity programs on and after January 1, 2020.
