About the webinar:

OCRA is celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) by hosting an educational webinar about how to encourage employment of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The panel will include people with disabilities who are already working and those who are looking for jobs. Attendees will also hear from specialists who focus on helping people with disabilities find jobs. You will also learn about helpful resources to find and keep a job.

Panelists will also talk about:

  • How to learn about different types of jobs and which ones are right for you. The panelists will also talk about how important it is to build your skills to do well in your job.
  • How to decide if you should disclose your disability and/or ask for reasonable accommodations.
  • How to avoid losing your benefits like Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Medi-Cal.
  • How to find local resources to support you and improve your self-advocacy skills.
Reasonable Accommodations: ASL, Spanish interpretation, and Korean interpretation will be offered.
