WHY:

- To demand a budget solution that is based upon shared responsibility and shared sacrifice – not a solution that is placed entirely upon the disadvantaged and powerless. To demand an end to the Governor’s lavish tax breaks and loopholes for the largest corporations doing business in California.
- To alert our communities that the “Cuts-Only” budget, demanded by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, represents the near-total destruction of California’s “social safety net.” The loss of thousands of human service jobs will create further economic damage in communities throughout California.
- To help the public understand that passage of the “Cuts-Only” budget will cause unprecedented and unnecessary human suffering while creating MORE – NOT LESS long term costs as thousands will be forced from independent living and into institutional care.
