"We congratulate the staffs of the Department of Developmental Services and the Bay Area regional centers who have worked together with disability advocates on a successful transition into community living for the remaining Agnews residents. For decades we have helped Californians with developmental disabilities implement their right to live in the community, and the closure of the Agnews Developmental Center is signifcant progress towards this outcome."
